What is the best way to store your puzzle?

Are your puzzles also in the way and you don’t know the best way to store them?

1. Puzzle framing and hanging

Have you finally finished your puzzle, but now it’s rather in the way?
Often you don’t want to just take it apart and put it back in the box.
Also, is the picture beautiful enough for you to hang it on your wall as a work of art? Then frame your puzzle! There are special frames made for this that will allow you to keep your puzzle looking great.
First, use special puzzle glue to really make it a whole.
Then you can frame your masterpiece neatly.
Just make sure you choose the right frame!

2. Use puzzle mats or storage trays

If you don’t want to just take your puzzle apart, but also don’t necessarily want to frame it, special storage systems are designed for this!
A puzzle mat, for example, is ideal for this.
By making your puzzle on this or putting it on here later, you can easily roll up your puzzle and store it.
That way you don’t have to take it apart.
The beauty of this is that you can always choose to frame it later on.
But you can also easily store an unfinished puzzle in this way.
There are also puzzle boards and plates.
These are also incredibly handy storage systems.
They actually have exactly the same function as a puzzle mat, but they provide a hard surface.
So you can’t roll these plates and boards up, but you can move them around easily.
In addition, they often offer additional drawers for storing and sorting pieces.

3. Use sorting bins and sorting boxes when your puzzle is unfinished

Are you not done with puzzles yet, but would like to store them?
Then use sorting bins and sorting boxes.
The bins are easy to stack and thus easy to store.
They also often come with lids, so you can’t just lose the puzzle pieces.
Sorting boxes basically have the same function.
However, the difference with the bins is that this is one piece with several compartments.
This allows you to sort the pieces easily.

4. Store the box in a place where it won’t bother you

This may go without saying, yet it doesn’t happen very often.
The puzzle boxes are often stored in places in the house where they don’t need to be at all.
You can already easily create space by storing the puzzle boxes in the shed, for example.
Another good place is even under the bed.
Here you often have enough space where nothing is in the way.

5. Throw away the box and store the puzzle in something smaller

People generally prefer not to throw away the box.
Reason for this is that you can use the image of the puzzle as an example.
But this can be done differently!
Keep the puzzle pieces, for example, in a sturdy resealable bag.
Now you may be thinking “but how should I put the puzzle together?”.
There are several things you can do for this.
You can simply take a picture of the box to see the example from phone next time.
But you can also just use the Internet!
The image is actually always available anywhere on the Internet.
Prefer not to read it from a screen?
Print it out.
Then you can also fold this printout and keep it in the bag with the rest of the puzzle pieces.

Additional tips for storing your puzzles

To properly store your puzzle, we have some additional tips!
First of all, always make sure you label the bags and boxes.
That way you know what kind of puzzle it is.
You usually can’t tell from the pieces alone whether it’s a Jumbo puzzle or a Heye one.
Furthermore, it is important that you store your puzzle in a place where it is dry.
In some houses it can be too damp in your bedroom under your bed.
If you want to start puzzling, your puzzle is completely rotten and no longer of any use.
So pay attention to where you store your puzzle!
