Ugears Harry Potter Quidditch Pinball Machine

Get on your broomsticks and prepare for an exciting game of Quidditch! This working pinball machine is inspired by the fictional wizarding game of Quidditch from the beloved Harry Potter books and movies. During the game, players fly through an aerial arena and try to throw or hit the Slurk through three rings on the opponent’s side, scoring ten points each time. The team that catches the Golden Shark scores 150 points and wins the game.

The DIY Ugears Quidditch Pinball model is a visually stunning stadium, consisting of a playing field made of cardboard printed with decorative elements, 8 raised viewing platforms engraved with the logos of the four houses of Hogwarts (Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Sytherin), a functional scoreboard, a box for storing the Golden Snitch and three slug balls. In addition, of course, this pinball machine has game elements such as flippers, bumpers, targets and obstacles.

Game rules of Quidditch pinball

• Make sure the Quidditch pinball machine is assembled correctly before you begin. Check that all moving parts are working properly.
• Place the model on a flat surface and take the yellow ball (Snitch) out of the box. Place the Snitch in the designated spot on the left rail.
• Insert the three red balls (Slurk) into the hole on the front left side of the model.
• Raise the three targets in the center of the field, by pressing the two bumpers and the launch ramp directly behind the targets.
• Turn the dial on the back of the scoreboard to set it to three zeros.
• Now you are ready to start playing this game!

To start the game, press the “New Game” button on the front of the model and send the three slug balls to the correct position. Push the front lever down to ready the first Quaffle, then pull the side trigger and quickly release it to launch the ball onto the playing field. Place your hands on the buttons on the side of the game and press them to keep each ball in play as long as possible. Defeat the three goals to clear a path to the rings, which are defended by Keeper Ron Weasley and the Weasley twins as Floaters. Each time the Slurk passes through a ring on the other side of the field, you earn ten points (keep track of the scoreboard by pressing the button at the top right). The Slurk then comes back into play. Defend your own rings by preventing Slurk balls from getting past your flippers, or they will disappear from the game. Once all three Slurk balls have fallen through your own rings, the game ends.

The biggest challenge of the game, and the “easiest” way to win, is catching the Golden Snitch. You can do this by sending a Slurk onto the rails, launching it from the sloping center ramp (the ramp rises into position as soon as the center target is hit). If a Slurk lands on the right rail, it is brought back into play, while a Slurk landing on the left rail rides down until it releases the Snaai into Harry Potter’s waiting arms.
