Italeri M3A1 Scout Car (1:72)

In 1938, the White Motor Company began development of the M3, an armored reconnaissance vehicle for the U.S. Army. The vehicle was equipped with a 110-hp 6-cylinder Hercules JXD gasoline engine and could reach a top speed of 81 mph. With four-wheel drive, the M3 was used for various military purposes such as patrols, reconnaissance and command posts. It could carry up to eight people and was armed with a 12.7 mm Browning M2 machine gun and two Browning 7.7 mm machine guns on the sides. The M3 was first used during the Philippine campaign in 1941 and later deployed in North Africa and Sicily. During the war, the M3 was replaced by the more modern M8 Greyhound for advanced reconnaissance duties. In addition to the U.S. Army, the M3 was also used by the armed forces
